Eight of us drove down together and stayed a very nice house in St. George.  We ate dinner at the Pizza Factory and then picked up our packets.  I shared a room with Michelle N.(Shimelle).  It was so fun.  We stayed up until 12:30 a.m. talking.

Race morning:  We got up at 7:30, got ready and headed over to the race.  I started with Jody, Cheris, Michelle M., and Dean.  Peggy found us about 1 mile in.  Our plan was to start slow and gradually get faster as we went.  It was great running as a group.  It was a lot like our Boston Marathon.  The miles flew by.   I felt good the whole time.  I drank Gatorade at the first 2 stops and had a GU just before mile 8.

My splits were 8:50, 8:33, 8:27, 8:27, 8:02, 7:51, 7:51, 7:57, 7:50, 7:36, 7:55, 7:39, 7:52, and a 6:09 pace for the final .1.  Average pace 8:04.

Hey there Julie!!! Looks like you all had a FANTASTIC progressive run/race! How fun to run in a pack like that. It was great seeing you, even though I wish it could have been for longer!!

Nice job! :)

Awesome run! I'll bet it felt great to get faster as each mile flew by. Well done!

Great race Julie. You make running a half-marathon sound easy.
