Another great long run with the 3 Michelles, Jody, Cheris, Dean, Kris and Kimberly.  We start at Michelle M.'s house.  It was cold and windy from the North.   We ran the first 10 miles in 1:30 and the last 10 miles in 1:25.  Average pace 8:46.  I'm always glad to have the first 20 out of the way.

Nice training run, looking good for Boston.

BTW, who is in your picture, a favorite band?

I'm glad we got that out of the way too.

Jeff, I will answer for Julie because she doesn't get on here nearly as much as me:) That is Slaughter (Big hair band from the early 90's) Her husband promoted that concert up at the Depot (SLC) I took the picture:)

Thanks Michelle. You beat me to it.

Thanks for the comment Jeff. I am getting excited for Boston. It looks like we have a good number of us from the FRB going. Have you been before? We are trying to figure out what we want to do and see in Boston.

Yes, that would be Slaughter. Michelle and I have seen quite a few of the 80's bands these past few years. It makes me feel old.

Oh my, I answered for you and you were probably on as I was. Sorry.

You can answer for me anytime. You know how slow I usually am.

Julie, I ran Boston in 2006 and had a blast. Boston is a great town and much smaller than I thought so it is easy to walk around and/or take the "T". Ideas on things to do:

Walk Freedom Trail

Visit Boston Common

Visit Fanueil Hall

Eat Italian food (and desserts) in the North End

Visit JFK Library

Take Duck Boat tour

Visit Expo (at least once!)

Visit the Trinity church in Copley Square

Plus much more depending on interest, time and transportation and where you are staying.

Love the 80's bands (my era as well). In fact, I believe we are going to see Def Leppard, Cheap Trick and Posion this August in SLC! Rock on!

Thanks Jeff. Those are some great ideas. I believe we are staying at a hotel near the finish line. So we should be close to everything.

I would love to see Def Leppard. Crue Fest is coming again this summer too. We haven't decided if we'll go to either concert yet.

Lots of neat things to do. We are staying about 1M from the finish (Hilton Finanacial district) but everything in downtown is in walking distance.

Keep up the great training.

I was born in Massachusettes just outside of Boston (lived there until I was five then grew up in New Hampshire). Lots to do in the city. Definitely do the list mentioned above and if you can, go to the Harbor to see the Ocean. Prettier beaches as you drive towards Cape Cod (an hours drive, where my family lives), now that would be the best place I would recommend but not very warm there in April (hit or miss), flowers don't blume there until May. I am too jealous. Maybe I should just sign up and go. I ran it in 1996. You will love it.
