I stayed at the condo again the night before the race.  I had a great time hanging out with the girls.  We made our own pasta dinner.  It was yummy.  I took 3/4 of an Ambien at about 10:00 and slept great until the alarm went off at 4:00 a.m.

As soon as we got to the start, we got in line for the Port-A-Potties.  The lines were not moving.  We were still about 3 people away when the gun went off.  I was so bumbed we didn't get to start with the 3:30 pace group along with Dean and Jody.

I started with Angela and Michelle.  Michelle decided to hold back after the 1st mile.  I ran with Angela until mile 11.  She was having some tummy problems.  I waited for her twice, but by the 3rd time I decided I'd better just keep on going.

I felt really good.  I wanted a 3:30 so bad.  The slower first two miles put me behind and I never could made up that time.  I am little disappointed with my time but it was still over a 4 minute PR.   The best part of the whole race was that I didn't have to stop to go to the bathroom even once.  That's never happened before.  I even had a negative split by over 2 minutes.

My splits were 8:46, 8:24, 7:44, 7:42, 7:46, 8:21, 7:26, 8:46, 8:33, 8:14, 8:26, 8:38, 7:41, 7:44, 7:29, 7:41, 7:35, 8:01, 8:08, 7:53, 7:36, 8:07, 8:05, 7:56, 8:21 and 8:34.

I took a gu miles 5, 11, 17 and 21.  I drank gatorade at the other stops.

It was so great to hang out with everyone after the race.  It was a fun day.

Great race Julie. It was nice of you to wait for your sister even if it slowed you down. Congrats on the PR.

great race. I think we where running within a hundred yards of each other for most of the race. Great PR!

I think you should have waited and jumped into the herd when I did, I really had no problems getting through the crowd at all. I was 7 minutes behind the clock, but I never got passed so that was nice!!

yeah for the PR, yeah for the no potty trip (that is so nice!!!) and yeah for finishing with a negative split!

You are an amazing runner and SERIOUSLY one of the nicest people I know. I am so glad I have gotten to know you, I feel lucky!

Paul- It was fun seeing after the race. You were just beaming. I was so happy for you. Way to go.

James- Thanks for the comment. And thanks for all you do for the cross country team. My daughter Taylor has really enjoyed having you for a coach.

Nancy- Thanks. I wish you could have been there with us. We missed you.

Lyman- We were close huh. I really wish I could trade you times. You did awesome.

Kelli- You know I think the world of you. I wish I could've caught up to you when I saw you at mile 11. You were flying by. I didn't have a chance.
