4 miles at marathon pace.  The pace felt good.  We had to hold ourselves back to not go faster.

I drove to Ogden Friday night with 4 other ladies from our running group.   We spent the night at the Ben Lomond hotel.  It was nice to walk out the hotel door and get on the bus.  Cheris and I started out together.  The pace felt great.  We were right where we wanted to be for the first 10 miles.  At mile 10 we took a bathroom break.   This put us about 2 minutes behind.  At 17 miles we started a big downhill section.  Cheris took off.  She is a much better down hill runner than me.  At mile 18 my stomach started to cramp up.  I have always had bathroom issues on runs longer than 13 miles.  Over the next 6 miles, I made 3 more bathroom stops.   Other than my stomach issues, my body felt great until mile 24.  The last 2 miles I was exhausted.  Peggy and Michelle met me at mile 25 and paced me into the finish.  They were a huge help.  I felt better during this marathon than I ever have.  My recovery has been great.  I have had very little soreness.  This race was a 12 minute PR for me.  (Actually 13 minutes from the actual time on my Garmin.)  And 39 minutes faster than I when I ran this marathon in 2006.

My splits according to Milliseconds:

7 miles in 1:00 (8:36)

13.1 in 1:54 (8:54)

23.5 in 3:23 (8:12)

Final 3.1 in 31:53  (10:15)
